GZ

I made a short trip to Guangzhou in China last week with my business partner Katherine. In order to source the best and most suitable fabric for my coming clothing line, she took me to THE biggest fabric and accessories market in. the. world.

Seven stories high building including underground levels, each level is divided into A-Z areas, each area is divided into 7 to 10 streets then each streets have about 50-70 stores, EACH store representing different factory in. the. world.

Fabrics and accessories in the market get updated extremely often, what you see is almost what is predicted to be huge next season. Buyers and suppliers from all over world come here not only to source for supplies but also to be kept up to date with what's in and what's out.

Guangzhou has made a very good first impression on me (although my lungs weren't very happy and I had to wash my hands 500 times a day), this city does get a lot more lively and dynamic at night time

Hilton Hotel & Resort Pattaya

Architecture is not particularly my area of expertise (more like my big sister's, who by the way, has devoted herself to studying architecture for the next seven years), but how have I never taken a good look at the decor and architecture of this place?

Hilton Hotel & Resort is owned by the Hilton Worldwide group which has over 3,897 hotels in 91 countries ( wikipedia wikipedia..), this one in Pattaya, Thailand was opened just two years ago, we were very honoured to be invited to stay during the hotel opening in 2010 and we have been returning at least twice a year ever since !

Hotel was design by the Department of ARCHITECTURE (a team of 20 architects), I can't quite figure out what the theme is? like I said - really not my area of expertise. I liked the bathrooms, they are mint green..matched my dress..

Tales of the orient

Designers have gone looking for inspirations from the far far East for this Autumn and Winter.

Fringed kimono jackets (remember the one I have with the red fringe and big silky sleeves? well done me) chinoiserie prints, embroidery obi belts, cheongsam-style fitted dresses, royal blue, rising-sun red, gold dragons embroidery across the blazers, I think you get the picture now.
